The Sunshine Coast’s Horizon Festival is back with a stacked lineup of cultural and arts experiences. Woo!
Back for its fourth year, the Horizon Festival is the Sunshine Coast’s premier culture and arts event. Running from the 23rd of August to the 1st of September, it boasts an incredible array of visual art, music, poetry, film, fashion, performing arts, street art and creative workshops.
Horizon Festival’s Marketing Coordinator, Jess Abraham, said acknowledging the traditional custodians of the Sunshine Coast region is an important “recurring theme” for the festival.
“We deeply believe in showcasing First Nations culture and artists; from traditional work from established artists to emerging contemporary creatives,” she said.
“We are proud to have an incredible First Nations Producer, Alethea Beetson, who has produced some really brilliant work for Horizon 2019.”
Ms Abraham said the Horizon Festival is a “celebration” of arts and culture that connects artists, industries, audiences and the Sunshine Coast community.
“Horizon is not only about showcasing the incredible artists we have here on the Sunshine Coast, but also bringing exceptional art and experiences to the Coast to showcase our region,” she said.
